I’M A LITTLE ROBOT BOAT WITH A BIG HEART!!!
MY NAME IS SPLASH!
I LOVE KIDS AND I LOVE TEACHING THEM
HOW TO BE SAFE AROUND THE WATER!
And kids love me, too!! I make lots of new Water Safety Buddies every year at boat shows, schools, churches, day care centers, and special events - anywhere there are kids and families. I was launched by the Lake Wylie Marine Commission to help kids learn to SPLASH INTO WATER SAFETY!
I have lots of helpers who teach kids about water safety, too, and who teach grown-ups about safe boating. We all work together to keep kids and families safe and having fun on Lake Wylie! Kids can be safe around water by following simple rules!
- Always wear a life jacket!
- Always swim with a buddy!
- Always make sure a grown-up is watching you!
- Always buckle-up in your boat – just like in your car!
If your organization would like a visit from SPLASH, please contact Officer Terry Everhart, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Lake Unit, 704-588-1798 or email teverhart@cmpd.org.
